United in God's Word
We as a youth group are going to be united in the word, spend time with God through reading the book of Luke. How much time you spend reading is up to you, but the more you fill your life listening and doing God's word, the closer you will get to Him.
Our goal is to have everyone in the youth group read the entire book of Luke by November 23rd (A little more than a chapter a day.)
Last Sunday, we divided up into reading buddies. These are same gender pals who will check up on each other and discuss what they read read. Buddies don't have to call each other, but can catch up with each other on Sundays.
Use the facebook group wall to post any thoughts, revelations, or questions about what you are reading!
If you don't have a reading buddy, but would like one, just let me know! Or just pick your own!

Fantastically Fun Fall Schedule
The site has been updated with some dates of extreme importance! Check out the ginormous calendar with updated info and schedules up until New Years...
The Youth Coaches met this past Thursday (Sept 4th), here are some highlights:
-We mainly started discussing the New Years Eve party and the general plan is all layed out. You do not want to miss this! Mark your calendars, start inviting friends, get exited! Let me just say that this year's party is definitely going to rock...literally. More information to come!
-We also discussed the Fall Retreats coming up on Saturday, Oct 4th. Juvon, Jordan, and Colleen have an amazing retreat planned out. It's going to be fun and extremely powerful. It kinda made me wish I could go...but then I remembered I'm a guy.
Besides that Jeff, Dave, Brent and I have an impactful weekend planned for the guys. We will be adventuring into the woods with a camping trip.

Tonight and Today

Who is in charge of updating this thing?
Sorry I haven't updated the website in awhile. This fall is going to be very exciting and filled with God's movement. Next week, the youth coaches will be meeting to determine the schedule for this Fall. In the meantime, there is a Youth Testimony night this Sunday at the usual 6 PM time.
Use the message board! Encourage each other, leave questions or thoughts about what you are reading, or leave prayer requests. Creatively communicate!
I've updated the music playlist at the bottom. I added a few new songs that I hope will excite you. A few of them include: Praise You in this Storm, Happy Day, 2 Worship songs from CIY (Cannons and From the Inside Out), This is Home from Switchfoot, and a few more.
If you have times of doubt or times that you are down, listen to some of the songs in the playlist instead of songs that will keep you stuck in a funk. Get in His word and turn to the truth.
Remember to base your relationship with God on the Truth and not on circumstances. Sometimes we question where He is and all along He is right there with us, somtimes we are just too busy to notice Him.
Did I mention to stay in His word?! ;)

Wednesday, Wednesday, Wednesday...
It's going to be a huge night! The meal this week is being served by the youth. If you are interested in helping out, show up around 5:30 PM.
Immediately following the meal...it's Break Out! This week we are talking about breaking out of the typical. It's going to be something you won't want to miss!
If you forgot about the "Take it with you", lost it, or weren't there last time, here's what you were challenged to do (there's still time to do it if you haven't yet!):
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
9 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: 10 If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! 11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? 12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
1. Do you know someone that could be alone? Think about the people that you come in contact with. Being alone doesn’t mean that they sit by themselves all of the time. Even some of the most popular people, might be alone in their hearts.
2. Pray that God would give you opportunities for the next two weeks to break out of your comfort zone and reach someone who needs His love in their life!
3. Pray that God would put some people on your mind that need you to reach out to them. List those names below:
4. Pray for these people each day and pray that God would give you the opportunity to talk to them.

New Website
Welcome to the *new and improved* Castleton Christian Youth Group blogpage! Check here for updated news, calendar, pictures, videos, and information.
We had a lot of exciting things going on last weekend. We fasted for 3o hours on Friday into Saturday to raise money to fight world hunger. We raised over $4,000! It was an impactful event all around.
The High School Leadership team had their first "Break Out." Which was a pretty big success. We look forward to seeing where God takes it!
Important information: Due to Mother's Day...Break Out will be moved from Sunday, May 11th to Wednesday, May 14th.
The Youth Coaches have also finalized the schedule for the summer. Starting in June, the Youth Group will only meet on Sunday nights. Here's how the summer is shaping up:
